Fond\u00e9 en 2012, le Semer Ensemble, bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Berlin, se consacre \u00e0 la r\u00e9interpr\u00e9tation d\u2019\u0153uvres musicales enregistr\u00e9es par des artistes juifs pendant la p\u00e9riode nazie sous le label berlinois Semer. D\u00e9truit par les nazis en 1938, l’ensemble du catalogue Semer, compos\u00e9 de centaines d’enregistrements pr\u00e9cieux et uniques, \u00e9tait consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme perdu \u00e0 jamais jusqu’\u00e0 ce qu’il soit red\u00e9couvert au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2000.<\/p>\n

Dirig\u00e9 par Alan Bern, le Semer Ensemble r\u00e9unit une extraordinaire brochette d’artistes de la musique yiddish, dont Lorin Sklamberg, Daniel Kahn, Sasha Lurje, Mark Kovnatskiy, Paul Brody, Martin Lillich et Fabian Schnedler.<\/p>\n

Alan Bern<\/strong> contera l’histoire \u00e9tonnante du label Semer, partagera avec les auditeurs des enregistrements originaux des artistes du label datant des ann\u00e9es 1930, ainsi que des vid\u00e9os de performances r\u00e9centes du Semer Ensemble.<\/p>\n

Dr. Alan Bern<\/a> (Bloomington, Indiana, 1955) is an American Jewish composer, pianist, accordionist, educator and cultural activist, based in Berlin since 1987. He is the founding artistic director of Yiddish Summer Weimar and the Other Music Academy (OMA). He is internationally recognized for his contributions to the research, dissemination and creative renewal of Jewish music with\u00a0Brave Old World<\/span><\/a>, The Other Europeans and the Semer Ensemble, among others. For his work he has been awared the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Weimar Prize, among others.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Founded in 2012, the Berlin-based Semer Ensemble is dedicated reinterpreting music recorded by Jewish artists during the Nazi period on the almost unknown Berlin-based Semer record label. Destroyed by the Nazis in 1938, the entire Semer catalogue of hundreds of precious, unique recordings was considered lost forever until it was rediscovered in the early 2000s. Led by Alan Bern, the Semer Ensemble features an extraordinary lineup of Yiddish music artists, including Lorin Sklamberg, Daniel Kahn, Sasha Lurje, Mark Kovnatskiy, Paul Brody, Martin Lillich and Fabian Schnedler. www.semerensemble.com<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n
